- All ASB Credit and Debit Cards holders are automatically enrolled to the program.
- You do not earn Wala’a Dirhams for transactions that are made from ASB Online Banking.
- To earn Wala’a Dirhams for utility bill payments such as du, Etisalat & RTA, payments must be made directly through the service providers websites.

What is Wala'a Dirhams?
Wala'a Dirhams is a loyalty program that rewards you for using your ASB Credit or Debit Card. The more you spend on your Card, the more Wala'a Dirhams you earn.
Who can redeem Wala'a Dirhams?
Only Primary Card members can give redemption instructions.
Can I redeem my Wala’a Dirhams for my family?
Yes, you can redeem your Wala’a Dirhams for family members and friends.
How do I redeem my Wala'a Dirhams?
Login to ASB online banking for real time redemption or simply call Al Islami Phone Banking on +97146092222 and speak to our call center agent. Kindly note that Airline ticket purchases and Hotel booking can only be done through ASB Online Banking.
What happens if I want to make amendments to the existing booking? What is the number I should call?
You can make amendments to your existing booking by calling MMI Travel on 04-3166579 and their representative will assist you with the amendments with applicable charges.
How do I enroll into the Wala'a Dirhams program?
You are automatically enrolled if you are a ASB Credit or Debit Card holder. Just spend, earn, and redeem the benefits.
What happens in disputed transactions?
Disputed transactions will be resolved after investigation by the Bank. The Bank’s decision will be final and binding.
Is there a minimum or maximum amount that I can redeem for utility payments?
Yes, there is a minimum and maximum limit prescribed for each utility payment service as per the table below:

You can book any number of seats using your Wala’a Dirham.
When can I redeem my Wala'a Dirhams?
You can redeem anytime you like.
On which type of transactions do I earn Wala’a Dirhams?
Wala’a Dirhams are earned for all retail and online purchases on your ASB Credit Card. In addition, you earn Wala’a Dirhams on your overseas and on online spends each time you use your Debit Card
Will Wala'a Dirhams expire?
Yes. Wala'a Dirhams will automatically expire in 3 years if you do not redeem them.
Can I gift/transfer my Wala'a Dirhams?
No. You can only redeem them.
Can I cancel my ticket at any time?
Yes, you can cancel your ticket but your Wala’a Dirhams will not be refunded.
Can I convert Wala'a Dirhams into cash?
No. Wala'a Dirhams cannot be converted into cash.
Are there blackout dates for redemptions for travel bookings?
No, there are no blackout dates. This means you have the freedom to travel anytime of the year even during the holidays, as long as a seat, hotel room or car is available for booking through ASB online banking.
Can I make an online booking for a child below 12 years of age traveling alone?
You cannot book for a child below 12 years of age, if he/she is traveling alone. Please contact the airline directly for such bookings.
Can I purchase Wala’a Dirhams if I have insufficient Wala’a Dirham?
There is no option to purchase Wala’a Dirham. If you have insufficient Wala’a Dirhams you have the option to pay the balance amount using a ASB Card.
How much time will it take to credit my utility account after my redemption request has been accepted by AlSalama Bank?
Please expect at least 3 working days for the payment to get effected after acceptance of redemption request by AlSalama Bank.
Is there a maximum of Wala'a Dirhams that I can earn on my Credit Card?
Yes. The Maximum Wala’a Dirhams that you can earn on your Credit Card is on the total retail spends made in a calendar month up to your credit limit. Retail spends made above your credit limit will not earn you Wala’a Dirhams.
What will be my baggage limit?
Your baggage limit is provided by the airline. Kindly contact the airline or visit their website for the allowances.
How long will the voucher be valid for?
Validity may vary depending on the type of voucher issued.
In all cases voucher will have issue and the expiry date (printed on the voucher).

What happens if the voucher expires?
When the voucher expires, you will no longer be able to redeem that voucher, and will lose the points that were debited for that voucher.
Can you request for multiple vouchers for multiple retail partners?
You can request for as many vouchers as you want.
Can I pay my credit card bills with Wala'a Dirhams?
No. You cannot pay for your Credit Card spends/expenses with Wala'a Dirhams.
Will I receive Wala’a Dirhams for Cash Withdrawals?
No, Wala’a Dirhams are not earned for cash transactions.
Do I need to be a member of airline program to redeem my Wala’a Dirhams on airlines?
No you do not need to be a member of any airline program to redeem your Wala’a Dirhams on any participating airline.

If I do not have sufficient Wala’a Dirhams to redeem a booking, can I pay the remaining amount using my ASB Card?
Yes, you can do part redemption of Wala’a Dirhams and purchase the balance by using your ASB Card.
My booking was cancelled by the airline. Will I get a refund of Wala’a Dirham?
No, the Wala’a Dirhams will not be refunded. You will need to get in touch with the airline or MMI Travel who will advise you suitably.
Can I make amendments to my itinerary at any time?

How are Wala'a Dirhams calculated?
You earn a percentage of your retail spends based on the Credit Card that you are holding. For details of earn rates kindly refer to the respective product features.
When can I not redeem Wala'a Dirhams?
If your Card is cancelled, delinquent or has been blocked for any reason you will not be able to redeem your Wala’a Dirhams.
Will I be issued a Ticket when redeemed for Flights?
You will be issued an e-ticket when you redeem your Wala’a Dirhams for flights. You need to carry your e-ticket to check-in at the airline counter.
What happens if I cancel my card and have balance Wala'a Dirhams?
You must redeem your Wala'a Dirhams before cancellation as unredeemed Wala’a Dirhams will be forfeited upon Card cancellation.
Do I have to pay anything for the airline tickets that I redeem using my Wala’a Dirhams?
All tickets issued using Wala’a Dirhams are inclusive of airport taxes, surcharges and booking fees.
